I found out about Traeger grills through the National BBQ Association, and have also seen many on the
competition circuit. I opened the first Perrin's Bar-Be-Que Express earlier this year, and immediately
knew I had to have the Lil Pig Grill. As you can tell from the picture, "Josie" has become a sort of
mascot for our new venture, and immediately draws traffic to our shopping center. Not only has she
become a big attraction, anything that I cook on her is second to none in flavor. I've been in the
barbeque business for almost thirty years now, and have cooked on pretty much anything and everything
- I can happily say that Traeger grills are a welcome addition to my "pit" crew.

About 5 years ago when I was the Logistics Group Commander for the Air National Guard F-15 unit at Portland
I wanted a way to Cook/BBQ/Smoke food to help the troop morale. We started with one Traeger. It worked so
well and we received so many compliments when hosting BBQs we expanded to 4 Traeger Grills that have had a
lot of use. They hold up incredibly well. I'm now retired and look forward to having a Traeger of my own.

I first heard of Traeger grills by seeing a demonstration at a local dealer in my area. They were cooking
chicken legs and it was the most flavorful, MOIST BBQ'd chicken I had ever tasted. I bought my Traeger 2
days later. BBQ chicken is my favorite thing to cook because it is always so moist and with other grills
chicken has always come out dry... at least for me.
Favorite Type of Pellet : Apple and maple. A mixture of the 2 is good too.
Likes to Cook :
Chicken and tenderloin.

A friend bought one a few years ago and was hooked. I received my grill as a gift from a friend that was moving
that didn't have room for the Traeger at his new place so since I actually cooked on his more than he ever did,
he left it for me to us in exchange for a lifetime supply of my homemade dry rub! I have cooked for thousands of
people on my Traeger and proudly wear my ambassador apron when feeding masses. 8 pork butts will fit on the
grill and will feed over 150 people! Everyone but my neighbors love my Traeger as the neighbors have to smell my
smoke and they know I am cooking something great. The picture is my son and I with hockey sticks as I was
cooking pulled pork for a hockey team dinner.

My friend Phil told me about smoking with Traeger, he was so hooked he salivated when he would
tell me each Monday what he fixed on the grill on the weekend. Smoked turkey prepared in a
3-day brine of salt/vinegar/orange juice/brown sugar with herbs is my signature dish. Pork
loin with a dry rub, apple cider vinegar spritz throughout, then country style mustard glaze
is good. The dry rub pork ribs are outstanding, BBQ sauce at the end. Salmon is awesome with
cracked black pepper and lemon juice. When the grill and bags of pellets showed up on a pallet
with a truck and forklift, my wife thought I had lost it. She has no regrets now, nor do I.
Favorite Type of Pellet :
I love the Mesquite for most things, Alder for Salmon, and hickory for pork.
Likes to Cook :
Whole turkey, pork ribs and tenderloin, and salmon. I have also done smoke curried pecans and
smoked green olive in garlic. Picture is me at 2007 Christmas getting up early to put the 18lb
turkey on for 18 guests for dinner. It was in brine for 3 days, outstanding results.

I had been frustrated with my Weber gas grill and was looking for a quality replacement gas grill. The
local Traeger dealer described the difference and was doing a demonstration, I was impressed by the
taste of the food, the ease of operation and the quality of the smoker/grills. I teamed up with the
dealer and entered the KCBS challenge for the first time in Sept. 2007 and we are planning to enter a
few more this year.
Favorite Type of Pellet : Hickory and Apple
Likes to Cook :
I like everything on the Traeger. Take and bake pizzas are wonderful. Salmon, ribs, chicken, turkey,
brisket, asparagus, mushrooms, pineapple slices are all terrific. I like to sprinkle balsamic vinegar,
sesame oil salt and pepper on asparagus and smoke for 45 minutes to one hour.

In the past I have watched the Food Network very much and there was a Grill cook off with Al Roker on the Road. I saw the wood pellet grilles and got very interested. I did some homework and found the Taeger grills. My wife and I love good BBQ and wanted to create some of our own. Chicken, Pork & Steak are our favorite meats. My wife and I do a lot of camping and we have figured out a way of bringing the grill with us. We even bring this grill to Mardi gras parades.
Favorite Type of Pellet :
Alder, Pecan, Hickory & Apple 50/50

I cook all of our meats on this grill. My favorite is Steak using either Alder or Pecan. We do a lot of Briskets and use a combination of Apple and Hickory. The neighbors and people that I work with just love the taste. When I am cooking, my neighbor calls me and asks me to quit stinking up the neighborhood (in a joking way).

We have a lot of fairly large family gatherings at my place and cooking
burgers and dogs just got to be ho-hum. I got interested in barbecuing and
investigated several different types of cookers. My research led to me to
conclude that I did not want to babysit a wood fire hour after long hour.
The pellet grills / smokers seemd to be a good fit for me. And my
investigation concluded that Traeger was the pellet grill to go with. Now
that I have it, and have thoroughly enjoyed it for two years, I can now say
I'm a genius for my research and final purchase.
Favorite Type of Pellet :
I like a combination of oak, hickory, and apple for most of my smoking. For
grilling, I'll use mostly mesquite for beef, alder for fish, and hickory for
other meats.
Likes to Cook :
I like to smoke pork butts and shoulders, brisket, and chicken. But my
favorite is a well-marbled ribeye steak grilled with mesquite pellets.

Laura and I cook in professional bbq contests across the Southeast. Cooking
on a traditional offset smoker was very labor intensive and not real
consistent. Competition bbq is about consistency. So, I looked into pellet
cookers and the Traegers were so highly recommended that I had to try one.
The trial went so well that I bought a 2nd Traeger two weeks later. With
only a couple weeks of practice, we entered a contest and scored 1st place
in Pork and 2nd place in Ribs & Chicken! A week later we scored another 2nd
place in ribs. The Traeger Grills exceeded our expectations. Not only did
they cook with amazing consistency, but it was just so easy to cook on the
Traegers. A few months later we became Traeger dealers because of their
wonderful products & support. We love cooking everything on our Traegers. We
recently took the Traeger on a camping trip and within minutes of unloading
the Traeger, we had 5 or 6 people stop by to admire and inquire about them.
Favorite Type of Pellet :
I love blending the pellets. Apple, hickory, & oak mixed are my favorite.
But I love oak for brisket and pecan for pork.
Likes to Cook :
I do lots of practicing on brisket, ribs, pork, & chicken for competitions,
but what I really love to cook on the Traeger?.......steak! Ribeyes!

Best grill ever! A friend of mine in Kansas City turned me on to what good
smoked BBQ can taste like so I wanted something with great temperature
control. I was tired of charcoal and gas grills and found Traeger and I have
never looked back!
Favorite Type of Pellet : Apple
Likes to Cook : Brisket, Ribs, Beer Can Chicken
Recipe or Tip to Share :
Tim's Wet Rub Beer Can Chicken 1 whole chicken, 4 to 5 pounds 1 standard
size (12 oz) can of beer (be creative!) Traeger BBQ Sauce Wet Rub: 1
teaspoon dry mustard 1 teaspoon granulated onion 1 teaspoon paprika 1
teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon granulated garlic 1 teaspoon ground
coriander ½ teaspoon ground cumin ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Grape seed oil (enough to create a paste) Remove and set aside the neck and
giblets. Spoil your dog by cooking them up later. Discard any excess fat
from the chicken. Rinse the chicken, inside and out, under cold water and
pat dry with paper towels. Pour the beer into a bowl and mix in some Traeger
BBQ sauce. Mix well and pour mixture back in can until about ¾ full. To make
the rub: Mix all dry ingredients in a small bowl. Make into a wet rub by
mixing in grape seed oil and whisking with a fork to create a paste. Do not
let it get too runny. Use a silicone tipped basting brush to paint the
entire chicken after positioning it on the beer can. If you are into tasty
skin then double the recipe for the rub to make a generous wet rub coating.
Use a piece of onion or apple to plug the hole in the neck to keep the
moisture in the cavity. Carefully set the chicken standing up right on the
grill. Cook on Traeger 180° (Low) for 1½ hours. Turn up heat to 275°
(Medium) and cook until breast meat temperature reaches a little above 165°
(about another hour). Then turn up to 300° (High) to crisp the skin up for
about 15 minutes. Check every few or so minutes until it is browned to your
liking. Wearing barbecue mitts, carefully remove the chicken and the can
from the grill, being careful not to spill the beer it will be hot. Let
the chicken rest for about 10 minutes before lifting it from the can.
Discard the beer. Cut the chicken into serving pieces. Serve warm.

Favorite Type of Pellet : Mesquite
Likes to Cook : Steelhead is my favorite - but Pork Tenderloin runs a close second.
Recipe or Tip to Share :
The more I take my time - the better the outcome. I soaked a Steelhead in a

Grill Story : I first experienced the joys of Traeger when my girlfriend's father cooked a

wasn't able to keep me away. My girlfriend's parents gave me a 22 Mag for
Christmas last year so that I could cook with it at college. I keep it in my
closet in the dorm building and just take it outside whenever I want to
grill.
Favorite Type of Pellet : Hickory and Maple generally, but an Apple smoked Prime is unbeatable.
Likes to Cook : The 22 Mag is pretty small so I generally cook things like Tri-tip steaks, pork chops, and chicken legs.
Recipe or Tip to Share :
The 22 Mag is susceptible to wind, which speeds up the pellets and may cause
problems like uneven cooking, so try to find a sheltered area to cook with it.

Heard About Traeger From : Friends
Favorite Type of Pellet : I've only tried Hickory and Mesquite so far and love 'em both!
Favorite Food to Cook : We recently moved back home to Kansas and were in the
market for a new grill. I kept using the old charcoal grill until one day I
came home from work, walked around to the back door and saw a big cardboard
box. The box was only about waist high and said "Smith and Wesson" on the
side. It was my birthday and my wife had an ornery grin on her face. My mind
was running wild and I didn't want her to know but I was really upset
inside. I thought she had bought me a really short gun cabinet that probably
cost lots of money and wouldn't hold any of the guns I own! To my surprise
it was the Traeger 38 Special! It's been one of the best birthday presents
ever. We don't have a favorite food just yet because we're still
experimenting with everything. However the ribs have been fantastic!
Recipe or Tip to Share : We cook all of our complimentary vegetables on the
grill. We make a heavy duty aluminum foil boat, pour in the vegetables with
a little butter and garlic powder on top and put them on alongside the meat.
As the meat smokes and cooks the smoke flavor gets into the vegetables as
well. You can't beat it!

I became acquainted with the Traeger Grill when my father-in-law opened up a meat market in Hays, KS. Everyone who comes into his meat market mentions they use a Traeger to grill their steaks and meats. My wife and I were due for a new grill after being on our third one in 12 years. Needless to say, we were so tired of burnt chicken, burnt hamburgers and steaks, especially the price of meat now days. Well, my wife and I decided we were going to get a grill that was going to last us for at least ten years. My wife stated, honey, I'm not interested in any grill unless it is a Traeger. I stopped by the local Traeger dealer in Hays and after about 30 minutes, we were sold. Still being unsure of our purchase, I decided I would follow the directions since I've already made the investment. Well, needless to say, I have never been so impressed with a grill like I've been with the Traeger. I actually look forward to grilling on my Traeger. Thanks Dad-in-law, thanks Honey, for being so closed minded about not being interested in any other grill.
Favorite Pellet : Mesquite
Favorite Foods : Steaks, hamburgers, chicken, brats, sausage
Favorite Recipe : Drunken Chicken-two chickens on a two seater chicken rack. Drink out about one third beer out of each can of beer. Take your spices and liquid smoke and pour them into the beer cans to create your sauce. Put the chickens on the rack above the beer cans and set them on the grill and wait until they are ready. Oh, by the way, make sure you get the auto temp. monitor,so you can enjoy a beer or two while you are waiting for the chickens to become drunken golden brown.

Favorite Pellet : Maple, Apple
Favorite Foods : Brisket, ribs ,turkey and chicken
Favorite Recipe : Brisket wet-rub
This is a recipe that gets rave reviews from everyone who's tasted it.
1/2 cup ground coffee
1/3 cup sea or kosher salt
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup hot paprika
2 tbls ground cardamon
2 tbls ground ginger
1/2 cup chopped garlic
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 tbls Knorr beef bouillon concentrate or 2 beef bouillon cubes dissolved in small amount of water.
Mix all ingredient in a small bowl until smooth. Consistency should be a wet paste but not runny. If too dry add more oil. A food processor helps. Spread generously all over brisket and marinade overnight. (I have done this same day without any marinade time with good results) Start Traeger on High ten minutes. Put brisket in and reduce heat setting to low and cook 8-10 hours .

We attend several county fairs and have always seen the grill for the last two years. We now own one and it is the best purchase we have made.
At first I wasn't sure, it does take some getting used to. I must say that I have used it every day since we got it two weeks ago. I have never tasted food the way it tastes on the Traeger grill. Lamb Chops, chicken, shrimp, hamburger, country ribs, sausage, etc. You can work all day and let the grill make your dinner, without having to hope it isn't burning like it would on a regular grill.
We love it, I may start writing down recipes to share.
Favorite Pellet : Oak and Hickory
Favorite Foods : Lamb Chops, tender juicy and delicious

My first grill was a PIGE (serial number 076). It was given to me in Guam as a gift from one of my employees in early 1996. I moved to Wilsonville, Oregon in 1997 and brought the grill with me in May 1997. In total miles, the grill made the round trip from Oregon to Guam, and back to Oregon for a total distance of 11,352 miles. I recently traded that grill for a Texas 075 in late 2003. I will always own a Traeger grill for as long as I live.

Relative - We were at their house and they were using their grill, and I fell in love with the concept, and of course the smell of the meat being grilled/smoked. I immediately ordered the Little Tex Grill. We received the grill a couple of days ago, grilled a pork tenderloin, and it was awesome!!! Gave a sample to my neighbors, and now they are considering getting a Traeger Grill.

I did extensive research (it's what I do for a living, after all) into different types of grills. I had just moved to Colorado from Kansas and had given my old propane grills to my kids. I knew I didn't want another propane grill, because even though they are convenient, there is no real taste. I considered going back to charcoal, but the speed of cooking and the need to buy an additional smoker grill was a downside. After I found the Traeger, I knew this is what I was looking for.
Favorite Pellet : Apple
Favorite Foods : Salmon, veggies, and steak. Then again, turkey was great too. Everything tastes better on the Traeger.
Favorite Recipe : Coconut crusted salmon
2 good sized salmon steaks
8 oz. unsalted macadamia nuts, chopped
8 oz. shredded sweetened coconut
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
1/4 cup melted butter
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Heat grill on high, using Applewood chips
Mix all ingredients except the salmon and butter in a food processor.
melt butter and coat the salmon
bread the salmon thickly
Put salmon steaks on grill, about 5 minutes per side.
I usually have asparagus and butter with Traeger veggie shake in foil as a side dish Enjoy

Then, I rinse them off and rub them down with Colorado Buffalo Salt's Smoked Jalapeno Salt and wrap in aluminum foil for 24 hours. Then, I put them on medium for about 2 hours remaining in the foil. Then, I remove them from the foil and smoke them for another 2 hours. Then, I turn it up to medium for 2 more hours. Finally, I crank it up to high until the bones fall out. Let them rest for about 10 minutes to seal in the juice and flavor.

I struck up a conversation about barbecuing with a guy at church and he mentioned he had a wood pellet smoker he wanted to get rid of. I went to Oregon and bought a mini trailer and I became a dealer in Sacramento. I sold many barbecues, then got my brothers-in-law in So. Calif hooked on them and now they're selling them. I moved to Arkansas and starting to get people interested in pellet smokers out here. The first words out of their mouths is " I've never had anything so delicious, how does it work? And the rest is history.

Favorite Pellet : So far the hickory is all we have had
Favorite Foods : Chicken wings! Burgers. Pork Loin. Porterhouse. Bone in Rib-eye, sirloin steaks.
Favorite Recipe : Wash and pat dry chicken wings. Saturate with olive oil so the goo will stick to them. I started out with a package of veggie shake and mixed it in blender with frozen orange juice concentrate, worcestershire, about a dozen sm/med tomatoes, a little anise, fresh dill, a dash of mace, about 10 whole garlic cloves, and balsamic vinegar(A GOOD ONE!) and mixed it all in the blender. Poured this over the wings, cover and refrigerate. (Turn and mix the goop all over the wings every time you open the fridge or thought about how good they were going to be!) Next night grill the wings. I'll call them "Jane's flyin~flippin Q ala orange"

I was in Louisville, KY, reading a Sunday newspaper article about Traeger Grills and was in the market for a new grill. My old gas grill had burnt out for the last time. I did a internet search about Traeger then called them up. After a few phone calls a Texas 075 was on the way. The Traeger Grill, hands down produces the best wild game and salmon. I started my love with Traeger about 9 years ago, when i was hired as the bbq chef for a store who uses traeger exclusively. After that I could never think of using anything else. And for my 30th birthday my friends and relatives gathered together and bought my grill for me.

I was in the process of building my own smoker and cooking area when my daughter from Alabama called and said they had just eaten the best hambugers. After checking out the Traeger web site I decided to get the big one. I saved time and money from the one I was going to build AND it is everything we wanted. Great smoking or grilling, never burn the food, won't run out of fuel while cooking, don't have to stand around and watch the fire, etc, etc.
Favorite Pellet : Hickory, Mesquite, Cherry
Favorite Foods : Salmon, hambugers, Brats, chicken, pork roasts, steaks, vegetables

Taste the difference they said, We did and now we own our own. We would have never thought about the differecnce if you dont taste it. every time we cook on "the baby" everybody can taste it. {neighbors} We would own nothing else ,first of all its safe to use no flare upp, second you have no mess, and the best part of all the taste and the health benefits of not using chrcoal or gas.

Bought my grill from Greg Williams, Lake Butler Farm Center, Box 538 Lake Butler, Fla. 32054. I cook chicken, boston butts, ribs and smoke fish on my grill. Using apple pellets, I smoke fresh water rainbow trout and they were great. On the 4th of July of this year I cooked a 47lbs. suckling pig with apple in mouth and it was fantastic. I had approximately 20 people at my house and everyone remark how moist and great tasting the pig was. "YOU CAN'T MAKE A MISTAKE COOKING ON A TRAEGER GRILL." I am sending along some pictures of the the suckling pig being cooked and I hope you use them in your flier that you sent me. Please let me know if you receive them?????? By the way, I am a diehard Steeler fan from Pennsylvania and Terry help you sell the Traeger grill to me.
